Creative Challenge

Design a brand identity for an upcoming exhibition for Charles Fraser Smith to be launched in London.
Today Charles Fraser Smith is most commonly known as the inspiration behind the gadgetman character 'Q' in the James Bond movies. He was the gadget designer during World War II, working for the Ministry of Supply.

Solution

Exploring the secrets behind the life of Charles Fraser-Smith. We will show his  lives as a factory worker/undercover gadget entrepreneur. We aim to show how his gadgets and himself are ‘not always what they seem.’

We named the exhibition 'subterfuge' focusing on the contrast between his two lives and different identites that he portrayed. The cut out style showcases the different sides to Fraser Smith's life, creating a strict visual language that uses montage as a means of conveying a sense of duality.
To hit the target market an ad campaign will be directed across the travel network of London.
